Rody Moody, a tall clean-shaven man with an enormous sweep of silver hair, a coral jacket and cream trousers, lounging in a poolside chair with a brass key dangling from his fingers beside his turquoise motel pool.

A ROADSIDE ORIGINAL

Rody Moody

YOUR HOLIDAY. HIS MOOD.

Somewhere beyond the last sensible exit, Rody Moody has arranged the sunbeds to his liking. The pool is immaculate. His welcome takes a moment. Leave your hurry by the door and try to look pleased with the upholstery.

THE MAN WITH THE MASTER KEY

Service with a long pause.

Rody bought the motel because the previous owner described it as manageable. That was before the luggage trolley developed a preference for turning left. These days he supervises everything personally: the pool reflections, the angle of the reception pen, the small but persistent difference between a welcome and an interruption. His silver hair rises above the desk long before the rest of him appears. Visitors tend to remember the coral jacket first, then the extraordinary neck, then the feeling that they have arrived in the middle of a very private inspection.

A FEW THINGS BEFORE YOU UNPACKPLEASE READ IN HIS TONE OF VOICE
01

The trolley sets the pace.

Nobody pushes the luggage trolley in a straight line anymore. Rody has mapped its preferred route around the lobby plant and calls the detour a courtesy tour. One wheel chirps beside the ice machine. A second wheel answers near the stairs. Arriving with three suitcases is therefore considered a musical contribution, and Rody expects you to appreciate the arrangement.

02

Sunbeds require negotiation.

At eleven each morning, Rody moves the striped sunbed exactly one tile to the east. Guests have suggested moving it back after lunch. He has suggested that guests have a swim. The dispute has remained civil, largely because everyone involved eventually falls asleep. A folded towel reserves a place; a pair of sunglasses merely starts a conversation.

03

Send an accurate postcard.

The souvenir rack offers a photograph of the pool taken on a remarkably cooperative Tuesday. Rody checks outgoing postcards for exaggerated descriptions of the weather. He once replaced “glorious” with “quite satisfactory” and added his initials in the margin. Anyone wishing to report a perfect holiday should therefore post their card from the petrol station on the way home.

AFTERNOON INSPECTION. OUTCOME STILL PERSONAL.
THE MOST IMPORTANT NOTHING OF THE DAY

The water is being considered.

Rody visits the diving board in his good trousers. He stands at the end, studies the surface and appears to reach a conclusion that nobody else can hear. The lifebuoy remains close enough to supervise. Once, a guest asked whether he intended to jump. Rody adjusted his collar and replied that intentions were a private matter. He has since added this stop to his afternoon rounds. The water stays blue, the board stays dry, and the surrounding chairs have become excellent places from which to watch a man postpone something with considerable dignity.

POOL REPORTQUITE SATISFACTORY.
RECEPTION IS A DELICATE MATTER

One bell. Several complications.

The brass bell occupies the best patch of sunlight in reception. Rody says this improves the service. What it improves most noticeably is the bell. He polishes it between enquiries, then looks mildly surprised when somebody uses it. There is a drawer of spare keys, a ledger full of remarkably straight handwriting and a clock that has been six minutes slow for years. Rody calls the difference a buffer. Ring once and see which matter has found its way to the top of his attention.

EXTRA PILLOW01

A pillow with credentials.

Rody has brought two pillows so you can make an informed decision. One has a slightly firmer corner. The other spent a summer in the upstairs linen cupboard and is, in his view, better travelled. He will wait while you consider their merits. He has already decided which one suits you.

“Take the second. It has seen a little more of the building.”

THE NEXT FEW EXITS

MORE TO
CHECK OUT.

FOUR STOPS.
ONE VERY PARTICULAR HOST.

01DONE

Raise the roadside sign.

Rody was introduced through the first set of portraits, pool scenes and reception stories. The motel has a recognisable face, and the project’s official destinations are set: this website, Pump.fun and X. The aim of this stage was a coherent little place people can recognise from a cropped photograph, a line of dialogue or that improbable sweep of white hair.

AT THE END OF THIS STOP

Character launch materials, official project links and the opening story collection.

02PLANNED

Fill the souvenir rack.

Turn the motel’s small annoyances into things the community can pass around: reaction portraits, postcard layouts, key-tag graphics and short exchanges from the desk. Each piece should make sense on its own while feeling as if Rody reluctantly approved it. Extend the cast through objects and recurring visitors, giving the setting more opportunities for specific, unexpected jokes.

AT THE END OF THIS STOP

Shareable image sets, postcard templates and new motel anecdotes.

03PLANNED

Let the guests talk.

Invite the community to write fictional complaints, strange requests and suspiciously detailed reviews. Select suitable submissions for illustrated replies from Rody and credit their contributors. Build recurring themes from the strongest exchanges instead of treating every post as an isolated gag. The reception desk becomes a place where the audience can help decide what happens around the property.

AT THE END OF THIS STOP

Community prompts, selected guest stories and illustrated response collections.

04PLANNED

Open the next wing.

Add another corner of the motel once the existing rooms have acquired enough personality. That could mean a rooftop breakfast, a laundry dispute or an encounter beside the vending machine. Develop new illustrations and a small interactive scene around the chosen location. The direction will follow the stories people respond to and the work the project is ready to produce.

AT THE END OF THIS STOP

A new setting, fresh character artwork and an additional website interaction.

Stop 01 is done. The other three are planned creative phases.

A NAME YOU CAN KEEP

Take the name with you.

Rody Moody gives this meme project its face, setting and thoroughly particular attitude. This panel keeps the token details together, alongside the project’s Pump.fun and X destinations. The full contract address is shown below, ready to copy. Rody would prefer you to read the label before taking a key.

BEFORE YOU REACH FOR THE BELL

GOOD
QUESTIONS.

HE HAS HAD TIME TO THINK
ABOUT THESE ONES.

01Is Rody running a real motel?

Rody and his motel are fictional. The roadside setting, awkward service and very tall proprietor form the world of an original meme character. You can explore the stories and illustrations here without making a reservation. Any luggage you have brought will have to remain your own responsibility.

02What does the bell do?

Each press brings up another of Rody’s four reception responses. You can also choose a request directly using the labelled buttons. The bell animates silently and the counter records rings during your current visit. It does not contact anyone, book a room or collect guest information.

03Where are the official links and CA?

Pump.fun and X appear in the header, the token section and at the end of the page, and they open Rody’s own pages. The full contract address sits just below the opening scene and again in the token section, each with a copy button. Check any address you see elsewhere against this one.

04How does the roadmap work?

The four stops describe creative work for the character and community. They begin with the motel’s identity, then expand its shareable artwork, guest stories and interactive setting. Stop 01 is done; the other three are labelled PLANNED.

YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND HIM

STAY A LITTLE STRANGER.

The afternoon has found its usual position over the pool. Somewhere inside, Rody is giving a spare key a second polish. There is time for another story, another improbable request and perhaps a revised opinion of the sunbed. Follow the project on X, pass a favourite image to someone who will understand it, and drop by again whenever the mood takes you. He will recognise your expression.
